Dear Previous Owner of My House

I suppose I owe you thanks. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have acquired several new talents. I am now very good at removing excessive carpet nails and -staples and in general at removing carpet from an entire home in record time. (My next project is to remove carpet from underneath built-in shelving. Should be fun.) I am tremendously experienced in locating carpet beetles and should probably do this for hire when others buy new homes. I know how to find and speak with an exterminator, and how to deal with it when he tells me that he doesn't know if there is anything else he can do about this "extensive infestation" of bugs that you left us with. I have also learned how to take down a wall to get to aforementioned beetles. So thanks for all that new-found knowledge which I wouldn't have had if you had disclosed the problems in the home.
I hope you are enjoying the weather in TX and the fact that someone else got to clean up the rotten mouse poison in the basement and patch up the hole in the wall that let in water.

the new owners.

P.S. The little black mouse I just discovered under the dishwasher while I was reading in the kitchen tonight says hello.

P.P.S. My husband says this letter is too bitter and that there actually are good things about our house. I suppose he is right - at least the mouse (Mice?!) likes it here. And a kind neighbor helped me do my iced-over driveway. Maybe he has a cat I can borrow too...

It Ought to be Outlawed...

for this girl to look this beautiful in every single one of the 30+ pictures I shot today:

My husband's younger sister and her fiancé are getting married and asked me to shoot a few candids of the two of them. They are so adorable together. And she is so freaking gorgeous and photogenic. (Don't worry, Ed, I think you're pretty handsome too. But you gotta admit that girl is beautiful.) I love you baby! All the best to the two of you!

Merry January 6th

See, I'm not late with my holiday greetings at all. Today is a day and why shouldn't it be merry? As an alternative, I wonder whether this might count as my Christmas card for 2009?
In any case, I'd like to wish you all a very belated Merry Christmas and all the best in the new year. May this year bring you each joy and peace.
